Grass under my feet... and other reminisces.
As a child / young adult, I had the absolute privilege of spending many days outside. And not outside in the park or outside in the suburbs, but properly outside. With mud and rocks and grass under my feet. Wet jumpers and frozen white fingers were then warmed by the fire. And when it got dark we played cards and listening to the rustle of cattle moving in the darkness, just beyond the light spilling from the house.
Please indulge me for a minute, I write this because when I was a little older I went months between getting grass under my shoes. And whenever I did find myself walking on a soft and uneven surface, it was a surprise. A very welcome and heartening surprise. A grounding feeling. I can feel that subtle give in the ground as I type. Think for a moment, when was the last time your path was anything but manicured?
And while I love Ocean Farm in the summer months, the winter months are pretty amazing too. Pulling on a jumper, walking in the wind, using the clear skies to telescope to the moon and stars and finally sheltering in front of a fire. Magical.
And here is the pitch:
We have space. And a discount.
After a manic past 2 and a half years with zero availability, the farm now has some room over some of the winter months. Weekend and weekday too.
